Getting Here

Firstly we want to thank everyone for travelling so far to come to our wedding.

The address of the venue is:

Drumtochty Castle, Auchenblae, Laurencekirk AB30 1TP

If you are driving, parking is available on-site.

The nearest train station is Laurencekirk. A taxi will be required to get to the venue.

The nearest airport is Aberdeen, which is about a 45 minute drive from the venue.

Uber is available in the area but, unfortunately, Bolt is not.

In the Area

Many of our guests are taking the opportunity to explore Scotland.

Our venue sits in the foothills of the Cairngorms, the UK’s largest national park. There are many wonderful towns and villages which are well worth a visit as you make your way to us, including Ballater, Braemar, Tomintoul and Pitlochry. They all boast lovely cafes, restaurants and pubs as well as making good places to set a base for hiking, golf or other trips.

If you are looking to explore a local whisky distillery, we would highly recommend Fettercairn Distillery. As the main whisky we have chosen to have at our wedding, we simply have to recommend it! This is the closest distillery to the venue and offers a wonderful tour followed by a great tasting of their whisky at various ages. There are also many more well known distilleries not too far away.

With many golfers in the family, it also seems right to point out a few courses. There are 13 courses in the Cairngorms National Park, where you can find yourself teeing off surrounded by pine forests and mountains.

Gifts and Registry

We do not expect any gifts, especially as many are travelling so far to join us.

However, if you generously feel that you would like to give us a gift we have a couple of options.

Firstly, we have set up a fundraising page for the MND Association Charity, if you wish to donate.

Second, we have made a list of physical gifts and various experiences for our honeymoon.

FAQs

What do I wear?

We have had lots of questions about the dress code.

We’ve suggested to our guests that the appropriate attire is “old world glamour”. This is just a fun suggestion from us to match the grandeur of the venue and far from a strict code.

We love the idea of getting dressed up and feeling glam but we want you to have a good time so if you’re unsure, please wear what you feel comfortable in.

Many guests have very kindly asked us what gifts we would like. Truthfully, we couldn’t ask for more than if you come celebrate with us.

However, we have attached a registry link above.

We would like to reiterate that we are not expecting any gifts and that you travelling all this way to be with us is the only gift we need.

For any further questions feel free to contact us at neave@chrisandneave.com.
